The Diablos are happy to announce two baseball clinics this summer for El Paso youth May 27th (ages 5-14) and July 30th (ages 15-18).

The Diablos are back in town! Spring training is underway for the 2012 Diablos season, which lasts from May 6-May 16. The Diablos will be playing a total of three exhibition games against the Pecos League All-Stars May 9th, 12th, and 13th at Cohen Stadium. May 9th is a free admission game, with open seating! May 12th and 13th are $5 admission, and all open seating. Don’t miss the opportunity to get a preview of the 2012 Diablos for a great price.

The Diablos are very excited to introduce Matt Leland as the team’s broadcaster for the 2012 season. Matt is a recent graduate of the University of Southern California, where he called baseball on the radio and on the web for the last four seasons.

The El Paso Santos tied in their first face off against the Juarez Juventus, who both call Cohen Stadium home, on Saturday. Roberto Carrillo from El Diario covered the game, which will lead to Sunday, April 1, 2012, when the Santos and the Juventus will meet again for a night game at 7:00 p.m. at Cohen Stadium.

Just shy of three years ago during the 2009 season, Dane De La Rosa was pitching for the Diablos at Cohen Stadium. Among all of the Independent players still trying to climb to the majors this spring training, Tampa Bay reliever Dane DeLaRosa may have made the greatest stride.

Eddy Rodriguez, 26, who only three summers ago was the catcher for the El Paso Diablos, is one of seven catchers in the San Diego Padres’ major league camp.
