Scott Hodsdon (9-2) allowed just one run on four hits and struck out in his latest complete game effort, and the Diablos offense piled on late in a 13-1 victory over the Sioux Falls Pheasants.

The Diablos offense, ranked first in the league in team batting average but struggling on the club's latest road trip, continued to falter in Wichita as El Paso dropped its final game away from Cohen Stadium by a final of 5-1.

Tim Johnson may not have been the manager in El Paso when the 2012 season began, but the Diablos’ performance since his arrival made Johnson this year’s American Association Manager of the Year. Johnson took over as Diablos Field Manager on June 8, and led the team close to playoff contention with a 41-34 record.

Luis Chirinos (5-2) allowed just one run on three hits over seven innings and Mitch Einertson homered in the first frame to propel the Diablos to a 4-2 win over the Wichita Wingnuts, ending the team's season-high seven game losing streak.
